Oklahoma vs. #25 Kansas PreviewOctober 24th Line: Oklahoma -8
In the Red River Rivalry, the Sooners battled Texas till the end losing 16-13. Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winning QB Sam Bradford reinjured his shoulder early in the contest and could not return. ESPN’s Joe Schad is reporting that Bradford is likely to have season ending surgery on his shoulder. Backup QB Landry Jones completed 24 of 43 passes for 250 yards with a score. The Sooner rushing game was grounded to a halt against the tough Longhorn defense which put all of the pressure on the young signal caller. Jones will look to lead the 3-3 Sooners against the # 25 Jayhawks. Kansas had a surprising 34-30 loss to a Colorado team who has struggled throughout the season. The Buffalos were led by new starting QB Tyler Hansen who invigorated the offense and the team as a whole. Kansas QB Todd Reesing had a big day going 30 of 51 for 401 yards and two scores. The loss was a disappointing setback for Kansas but they still have their sights set on the Big 12 North title. Prediction: Reesing is one of the best QBs in the country but hasn’t faced a defense like Oklahoma’s. The Sooners will give up yards to the Jayhawk aerial attack but will limit the scoring. Landry Jones will be effective as he continues to grow into the position. Oklahoma 38 Kansas 33
